Glasgow Short Film Festival

11 - 15 MARCH 2015

GSFF returns, this time in the faintly warmer, slightly longer days of mid-March, spreading our programme a little wider across the city, and a little longer, over five days of screenings, special events and parties. Our Scottish and International competition selections showcase the cutting edge of new filmmaking, devouring the boundaries of filmmaking conventions. Many of the filmmakers will attend to introduce and answer questions on their work.

We’ve a great line-up of special guests, from directors Duane Hopkins, who leads a master-class on directing actors, and Daniel Wolfe, the promos director who painstakingly recreated an early 90s warehouse rave in Chase & Status’ Blind Faith, to local legend Greg Hemphill, who comperes our ever-popular comedy strand Short Com. We showcase the work of acclaimed Chicago filmmaker Jennifer Reeder and welcome programmers from the Lviv International Short Film Festival Wiz-Art in Ukraine to present new work responding directly to current events in the country.

Other highlights include 12th Player, a programme of football themed shorts celebrating the fans, and A Wall Is A Screen, a mash-up between walking tour and pop-up screening, shining images on some unexpected corners of the city. And let’s not forget our incredible opening event Vertical Cinema, which turns cinemascope projection on its side, and our Saturday night party featuring the incredible line-up of Jimi Tenor, Golden Teacher, JD Twitch and Bake.

So join us in the hothouse atmosphere of CCA and GFT for five special days of petite and perfectly formed movies!
