Green Blog: Recycle Week (18–24 June)
This month at GFT we’re doing our bit for the environment by participating in this years’ Recycle Week.
Recycle Week is an annual nationwide campaign organised by WRAP under the banner of Recycle Now to highlight the issue of reducing waste by recycling. The theme for this year is 'Recycling – Home and Away' so everyone can get involved, whether you are a large company or just wanting to do something at home.
Want to do your bit? You might be surprised at what can be recycled:
- If you’re at home why not keep your kids amused by using old socks to make puppets or use empty glass bottles as candle holders to create a special ambiance.
- Companies can start by doing something as simple as printing double-sided and you could go that extra step by putting recycling bins in your offices.
As part of Recycle Week, Recycle Now is also taking the opportunity to raise the issue of recycling plastic bottles (15 million plastic bottles are used every day in the UK, yet less than 50 per cent make it into our recycling bins!).
So when you come along to GFT keep an eye out for what we’re doing for Recycle Week and find out more about how you can get involved. Why not check out the Recycle Now website to see what other people are doing for the campaign.
Happy recycling!
