  THIS SUCKS: THE MOVIE!
  
  Glasgow Film Theatre, Starcatchers, Platform and Toad's Caravan have joined forces to produce This Sucks: The Movie, starring a talented cast of hundreds of nursery children from across Glasgow.
  
  This Sucks: The Movie is a short film made by and starring children four-years-old and under from nurseries around the East-End of Glasgow. The film tells the story of Hetty the Hoover and the love of her life -- Mike Dust.
  
  The concept grew from a previous, highly successful Starcatchers project, This Workshop Sucks, which premiered at the Glasgow Youth Film Festival, a fun interactive workshop, telling the same story to pre-school children combining theatre, art and moving image.
  
  Over two weeks in February 2012, hundreds of children from Glasgow nurseries participated in making the film with directors Matt Addicott and Katy Wilson from Starcatchers and the support of Toad's Caravan.
  
  This Sucks: The Movie! was made possible by Glasgow City Council's Area Committee Grants.

  The brand new trailer for Glasgow Film Festival 2012 is finally here!
  
  GFF runs annually each February presenting a unique programme of feature films, shorts, special events and live and interactive happenings. We work across the city, exhibiting in cinema spaces, galleries and unusual venues and are dedicated to putting on a truly great festival for film lovers from Glasgow and festival attendees from around the world. GFF12's main programme will run from 16 - 26 February 2012.
  
  Glasgow Youth Film Festival and Glasgow Short Film Festival sit outside the dates of the main festival programme. GYFF runs from 5 - 15 February 2012, GSFF runs from 9 - 12 February 2012.

  During Glasgow Film Festival 2011 we took some time to talk to actor Antony LaPaglia (Without a Trace, Lantana) about his experiences of filming in Scotland. During a break in filming House of Mirth in 2000 he took a road trip to Skye via the iconic red phone booth of Local Hero.

  GFT is fully digital now we have installed the same digital projector thats in Cinema 1 the Christie CP2000X along with a Doremi Server. We also installed a DigiBeta player, a couple of Blu-Ray players and a new DVD playback system. The new sound system is amazing Dolby digital (CP650-XO Cinema Processor), an increase from 6 to 10 surround speakers, 3-way bi-amplified screen loudspeakers and new sub bass (all speakers Luis Wassman). A new matte white mini perforated screen and behind the screen acoustic treatment was the last thing to go in (see the video).
