Glasgow Youth Film Festival: Join Our Team!

Youth-team-2012

Over 9,000 people attended GYFF 2012 films and events chosen by the GYFF Youth Team. Over a period of six months, the team decides on all aspects of their film festival - curating the programme, designing the identity of the festival and delivering special events.

Part of their tasks included hosting special Q&A discussions, producing film trailers, decorating restaurants, selecting festival brochure layouts and even singing at musical concerts.

Many of the group have become close friends and gone on to further work experience opportunities within the arts. It's amazing opportunity for everyone involved - as a result of their dedication, some members of the team have gone onto further film opportunities abroad in Venice and Istanbul.

We're looking for outgoing Glasgow-based teenagers aged 15-18 who are free Monday evenings from August onwards. We especially want to hear from young film fans from all types of diverse backgrounds. All that is required of new members is enthusiasm, regular attendance and most importantly, a passion for film.

Some quotes from those taking part in GYFF 2012:

It's open to everyone with an interest in film and because it's so inclusive, I always felt accepted and so felt that I could put forward my opinion and respect everyone else's.

It's a wonderful group  where everyone is given a equal chance to express their own opinions about film. Not to mention that everyone in the team ends up becoming friends with each other.

You don't have to be a mega film buff or critic to take part. There's something for everyone.

A brilliant way to meet like minded young people who share your love of cinema!

It was so rewarding to see our hard work turn into a successful festival at the end, but the most fun was the journey that the team took together through the year to get there!

If you are interested in taking part, please email paul.macgregor@glasgowfilm.org and tell us why you’d be a good addition to the team. Places are limited so don't delay!

    Taylor Brian Murphy....

I think what you are doing is a wonderful opportunity for young people to get to know other young people who share a Passion and that is exactly what Film is! a Passion.
