Environmental matters are a fundamental part of Glasgow Film’s ethos and we’re working to extend these principles to our creative partners, staff, suppliers and patrons. Here you can learn more about what we’re doing to reduce our impact on the environment.
Check out our Environmental Policy and Industry Green Report to learn more about our commitments and targets. In June 2012, GFT became the first cinema in the UK to be Industry Green certified with a 2 star certification from Julie’s Bicycle, who provide environmental sustainability expertise to the creative industries. Julie's Bicycle also featured GFT in a Case Study on their website which outlined a few of the initiatives that have helped us reduce our carbon footprint, and inspire our staff and audiences to do the same.
Our Green Blog offers opportunities to learn about and take part in our environmental awareness efforts, including details on upcoming green films and events at GFT and articles on best practice in sustainability. Please leave us your comments and suggestions on our blog – we’d like to work together towards protecting our environment.
There is a newly opened cycle route between the Southside and the City Centre; the 2km South-West City Way starts at the junction of Sheilds Road and St Andrew's Drive, taking in Scotland Street and West Street before linking with the Tradeston footbridge.
