GFT – A Legacy for Life

Many of our audience members tell us what GFT means to them; it’s not just a cinema, it’s a cherished part of their lives. Going to GFT – and to its predecessor The Cosmo – is passed down from generation to generation as patrons introduce their families and friends to the cinema.

As you may have noticed on your way to Cinema 1, there is a plaque commemorating Peter B Bell (1932-2003) which reads ‘In memory of my parents, Barbara and Peter, and with gratitude for my lifelong enjoyment of Cinema’. The late Peter Bell remembered GFT in his will. This enabled us to create our Learning Room, where we run courses and education programmes.

Making a contribution to GFT through your will means that you can choose what to support of our work: whether it's Glasgow Film Festival, GFT Learning’s participation and education work with schools and communities, the development of GFT’s premises (GFT is a listed building) or our technical equipment. This means that your connection with GFT remains for perpetuity, as your love of film is passed on to future generations. Your legacy will ensure that your thoughts and wishes influence the future of GFT.

If you would like to discuss making a gift to GFT in your will, or about other ways of supporting our work, please contact Liana on 0141 352 8604, email: liana.marletta@glasgowfilm.org, or write to Development, GFT, 12 Rose Street, Glasgow G3 6RB.

GFT is a registered Scottish Charity. This means that no inheritance tax applies to any bequests left to GFT.
