Bar Staff

We now recruiting for experienced temporary part-time bar people to work with us from November – March during the busy Christmas and Glasgow Film Festival period. We are looking for fun, focused people with a passion for film and delivering a great service in a unique environment. 


13.5 hours minimum contract worked over 3 shifts. A mix of evening and weekend work will be required. Christmas, New Year and February Glasgow Film Festival dates are essential requirements of the post. Shifts can start as early as 9am, and occasionally staff are required to stay as late as 1am.

Duties include

·         Serving customers and preparing their drinks
·         Taking cash and credit/debit card payments
·         Clearing tables and filling glasswashers
·         Restocking the bar
·         Maintaining a clean bar at all times
·         A proven track record of excellent customer care
·         Ability to upsell products

Position in the Organisation

Reports to the GFT Front of House Manager on duty 


Glasgow Living Wage (£7.65 per hour) 

Personal Specification

All applicants should have:

·         Experience of working in a cafe or bar, handling cash and serving customers
·         A flexible and hard working attitude to work
·         An ability to work with others as part of a team
·         An understanding and consideration of the needs of our diverse audiences
·         Experience of coffee preparation and serving

GYFF Festival Marketing and Engagement Intern

Main Purpose of Post
Glasgow Youth Film Festival is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work across Glasgow Film’s busy Marketing and Communications and Learning departments to assist in the delivery of our promotional activity and in community engagement for Glasgow Youth Film Festival. 

This post would be ideally suited to a graduate with a background in marketing or community arts/engagement. You should have previous experience of working on print and digital marketing campaigns. The successful individual will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written and excellent interpersonal skills. You will have a keen attention to detail, including strong proofreading skills. You should be competent in IT, specifically working on an Apple Mac.

You should be energetic, self-motivated and a friendly team player. This role requires an individual who has the ability to work well under pressure over long hours. A passion for film and festivals and an interest in working with young people are expected.

Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to: Festival Producer

Main Purpose of Post
Glasgow Film Festival will deliver around 400 film screenings and events during the month of February in venues across Glasgow. In order to help the Festival run smoothly we recruit up to 100 volunteers to work in front of house and ushering roles at our venues. We are seeking an organised and motivated Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and schedule the volunteers during this busy time.

GSFF Festival Assistant

Reports to: GSFF Director

Main Purpose of Post
The Festival Assistant will assist the GSFF Director and Coordinator in producing the 2015 edition of Glasgow Short Film Festival, Scotland’s showcase for emerging film talent - a young and dynamic festival with a growing international reputation. Responsibilities will include collating screening information, publicity materials and digital film files for the 150 titles in the programme, and helping to meet the needs of guests and event partners.
