A provocative challenge to our love of meat and dairy. By tracking the work of scientists, doctors and environmentalists, Planeat forces us to confront the evidence that a heavily animal-based diet is bad for our health, the environment and the future of the planet. The film features the groundbreaking work of Dr T Colin Campbell in China who is exploring the link between diet and disease, and Professor Gidon Eshel’s investigations into how our food choices contribute to global warming, land use and oceanic deadzones. With the help of some innovative chefs and farmers, the filmmakers begin a discussion on how the problems we face today can be solved, without simply resorting to a diet of lentils and lettuce leaves.
One of the directors will introduce the film and take part in a Q&A following the screening.
UPDATE: We are delighted to welcome filmmaker Or Shlomi for a post screening Q&A.
Alongside the festival film programme we have a whole host of pop-up shops, free workshops and activities for all the family. Find out more!
