Blade Runner: The Final Cut
Our loyal audience has a healthy appetite for science fiction, and we will celebrate this passion with back-to-back screenings of Solaris and Blade Runner: The Final Cut on Sunday 26 May as part of our Anniversary Programme. Blade Runner has screened regularly at GFT, in the many versions of it that Ridley Scott has given the world, and is a true audience favourite. Harrison Ford is exemplary as world-weary detective Rick Deckard, who is on a mission to hunt down intelligent but murderous replicants in a neon-lit, rain-spattered future Los Angeles. Cited by many as the greatest sci-fi of all time, this is the definitive version of Blade Runner, and demands to be seen on the big screen. --------------- Year of Celebration: 2024 marks 85 years since our cinema (originally the Cosmo) was built, 50 years since GFT was founded and the 20th edition of Glasgow Film Festival. We are celebrating with a programme of special screenings taking place throughout May, showcasing films that have been hugely popular with audiences and have played a unique role in the history of GFT over the past five decades.
