Inspirational film director, Ed Sayers, joins us for a discussion of his work in advance of the GFF Scottish premiere of Super Nature.
One of the undoubted highlights of GFF 2026, Super Nature, is an extraordinary work of collaborative filmmaking, shot exclusively on vintage Super 8 cameras, across 25 countries. Working with this material, documentarian Ed Sayers has crafted a stunning debut nature documentary offering a vibrant celebration of life across the planet and hope for the future.
In advance of the film's Scottish premiere, Ed joins us for this special In the Director's Chair session, to discuss his career journey, the joys and challenges of collaborative filmmaking and all things Super 8.
Ed Sayers started in film production as a runner and has worked in multiple roles in ads and music videos. In 1999 he started straight 8 - the one super 8 cartridge no editing filmmaking competition which screens at Cannes, and the BFI IMAX ( straight8.net.). His first short film as director/writer featured Michael Fassbender and some fish. Super Nature is a love letter to nature created on Super 8 by people connecting across the world.PT1H152026-02-28
