<div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Nine Months is <b>Márta Mészáros’s</b> first film in colour and marks her initial collaboration with <b>Lili Monori,</b> who delivers a powerful performance as the defiant and single-minded Juli Kovacs. Hoping for a better life, Juli moves to the industrial heartland of Northern Hungary to study, but is forced to take a factory job to support herself and her son. There, she catches the eye of foreman János Bodnár, played by the captivating <b>Jan Nowicki</b>, who would become both a frequent artistic collaborator and <b>Mészáros’s </b>husband for over 30 years. Their budding relationship grows complicated when János discovers that Juli has been hiding her son, who was conceived out of wedlock with a married man.</div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>Nine Months</i> is a radical, unflinching portrait of the double shift - work and motherhood - and the daily negotiations women make to claim autonomy in a patriarchal world.</div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Content Warning: Shows birth on screen</span></div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hungarian with English subtitles. </div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></div><div style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Screening as part of our <a href="https://">CineMasters: Marta Mészáros</a> season. </div>DramaPT1H34MCTBC2026-11-26HUhuLili Monori
