Emma (<b>Victoria Chakma</b>) is part of the ethnic minority population of Bangladesh capital, Dhaka. Meanwhile, Hasan (<b>Mostafa Monwar</b>) may be from the majority populace, but he works a thankless job in a glass factory. These two parallel lives – connected only by the sand they steal – unfold in <b>Mahde Hasan’s</b> visually beguiling debut. Emma becomes fascinated by an unexpected discovery in the sand she steals for her cat’s litter tray, while Hasan’s light-fingered pursuits in search of a better life may cost him dearly.
