Sound of Falling
A German farmhouse forms the backdrop for this Cannes Jury Prize-winning portrait of adolescence drawn from the experiences of four girls over the course of a century. Writer-director <b>Mascha Schilinski</b> gives a poetic sweep to events as she moves fluidly across time, between glimpses at Alma (<b>Hanna Heckt</b>) in the early 20th century, Erika (<b>Lea Drinda</b>) during the Second World War, Angelika (<b>Lena Urzendowsky</b>) in the 1980s and Lenka (<b>Laeni Geiseler</b>) in the present day.
