The 18.20 screening on Saturday 2 December will be introduced by Camilla Baier of feminist film collective Invisible Women. Seven-year-old Sol spends the day at her grandfather’s home, helping her aunts prepare for a surprise party they are throwing for Sol’s father, Tonatiuh. It is both a birthday celebration and a farewell ceremony, as this birthday is likely to be his last. As daylight fades, a strange and chaotic atmosphere takes over, shattering the bonds that hold a family together. Sol will come to understand that her world will change dramatically, embracing the essence of letting go and cherishing the breath of life.
