May is GFT's birthday month, and this year we’re celebrating our 52nd anniversary with a special programme of Big Screen Classics — films made to be experienced larger than life.
Highlights include the new 70mm restoration of John Ford’s The Searchers, screening at GFT for only the second time in the UK, alongside epic cinema favourites such as Dr Zhivago, The English Patient (35mm), Once Upon a Time in the West and The Godfather. Saturday nights bring high-impact spectacle with Mad Max: Fury Road, Interstellar (70mm), The Fall (4K), and a Steven Spielberg sci‑fi double bill.
The season also features David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, Bi Gan’s Resurrection and Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and a mini-season celebrating the screen legend Diane Keaton.
