Venue Access
At GFT, we aim to provide Cinema for All. It is our goal to ensure that everyone visiting the cinema feels safe, comfortable and welcome.
We hope that the information below helps you to plan your visit to GFT. If you have any questions or would like to speak to us, you can contact our friendly Duty Managers by calling 0141 352 8603 or emailing access@glasgowfilm.org
BSL users can contact GFT via Contact SCOTLAND-BSL, the online British Sign Language interpreting video relay service. Find out more at: contactscotland-bsl.org
This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our venue's suitability for people with differing abilities, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer to all of our visitors.
Free companion tickets
Some disabled people need to be accompanied by someone else to enjoy the cinema experience. To make being accompanied as easy as possible the UKCA operates the CEA Card scheme. The scheme allows a Cardholder to be accompanied by someone, free of charge, when they purchase a ticket to visit a participating cinema.
We accept the CEA Card at GFT. Click here to apply for your CEA Card online.
Please note, we are currently only able to accept bookings using the CEA Card in person at our Box Office or over the phone (0141 332 6535).

Enhanced Audio
We can offer Enhanced Audio (EA) headsets for people with varying hearing loss. Headsets are provided with earphones or can be customised for use with personal earphones.

Your EA headset will be available to pick up from Box Office when you collect your tickets prior to the film screening.
Audio Description
Audio Description provides an audio track of key visual descriptions. This track runs in time with the film's action. Screenings with Audio Description available are marked with an ear icon on our website listings.
We can provide Audio Description (AD) on selected titles via cordless headsets. Headsets are provided with earphones or can be customised for use with personal earphones.
If you have any questions or would like to pre-book a AD headset please contact our Box Office on 0141 332 6535 or email access@glasgowfilm.org
Your AD headset will be available to pick up from Box Office when you collect your tickets prior to the film screening.
Captions (also known as Descriptive Subtitles)
We offer captions on selected titles and selected screenings.
Captions, also known as Descriptive Subtitles, include descriptions of music and sound effects as well as dialogue. These screenings are marked with CC or a text label on our website listings.
When a film has descriptive subtitles available, up to 30% of our screenings will be captioned.
Relaxed Screenings
Film screenings tagged with 'Relaxed Screening' will be less formal, with audience members allowed to make noise and leave their seats when needed. There will no ads or trailers before the film and the sound levels will be slightly lower than a standard screening.
These screenings are not frequent, however Access Film Club offers a similar environment. Any relaxed screenings can be found on our accessible screenings page.
Support Animals
When planning a visit to GFT accompanied by a support dog or other support animal please contact a Duty Manager in advance of your visit: email access@glasgowfilm.org or call 0141 332 6535.
